Early Childhood Services Rapid Response Program

The MCIU Rapid Response Team provides valuable support to childcare centers when preschool-aged children (0-5) exhibit challenging behaviors that put them at risk of expulsion or suspension, even if they are not currently receiving Early Intervention services.

Early Childhood Social Services

The Office of Early Childhood Services is dedicated to fostering the holistic development of our youngest learners, aged 3 to 5, in Montgomery County and believe social and emotional well-being is paramount to their growth and success. To support this mission, we have curated a list of recommended resources that can complement their educational journey.

Pre-K Counts

MCIU was awarded the Pre-K Counts grant on January 8, 2016. The grant allows us to deliver high-quality pre-kindergarten programs to 257 age-appropriate children at no cost to income eligible families in Montgomery County.

Head Start

MCIU Head Start promotes the school readiness of young children from low-income families through agencies in their local community. Head Start programs support the mental, social, and emotional development of children from ages 3 to 5. In addition to education services, programs provide children and their families with health, nutrition, social, and other services.

Early Intervention

The Pennsylvania Department of Education is responsible by law for providing early education services for eligible children age three (3) to school age in the Commonwealth.
