Join us for a full day of professional development focused on preparing teachers to effectively teach to the new Pennsylvania’s Science, Technology & Engineering, Environmental Literacy & Sustainability (STEELS) Standards. The professional development will model effective ways to engage students in doing science investigations aligned with the new (STEELS) Standards. Brett Moulding will lead teachers in a series of investigations consistent with the research on how students learn. The sessions engage teachers and science leaders in hands-on investigations and discussions to illuminate simple and effective instructional pedagogies, strategies, and lesson plans aligned with the new STEELS Standards.

Brett Moulding will lead all of the professional development. Participants will receive the book Engaging Students in Science Investigation Using GRC. The book describes how to engage students in hands-on scientific investigations that deepen understanding of the scientific principles, concepts, laws and theories to make sense of phenomena. The book and professional development provide insights and recommendations for how to use the more than 440 lessons aligned to the STEELS Standards and found on the GRC website. All participants should bring a laptop. *The cost of registration includes Brett Moulding’s book.*
